Mr. Hurst was admitted to the Arkansas Bar in 1988 and is also licensed to practice before the U.S. District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Mr. Hurst earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science, with honors, from the University of Central Arkansas in 1985. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor, also with honors, from the University of Arkansas in 1988. During law school, Mr. Hurst served as Research Editor of the University of Arkansas Law Review from 1987 to 1988 and was the recipient of the Joe C. Barrett Award for Excellence in Commercial Transactions.
